Places to visit.

Visit the historical Northumbrian market towns of Hexham, Morpeth and Alnwick. The famous Gateshead Metro Shopping Centre is a short drive away, as is the vibrant city of Newcastle upon Tyne.
The Scottish borders are within easy reach and a day trip to Edinburgh is also possible.

Hadrian’s Wall A world heritage site with many Roman sites along it's path, including the Roman Army Museum, Housesteads and Vindolanda.

Kielder Water and Forest Kielder, Europe’s largest man made lake offers walks, cycling and water sports.

Coast and castles Northumberland is renowned for it's stunning sandy beaches, sand dunes and castles. Visit Druridge Bay, the fishing village of Seahouses, Holy Island and the Farne islands or explore the many ruined and restored castles in the region, including Bamburgh and Alnwick Castle and Gardens.

Houses and gardens The National Trust sites of Cragside and Wallington Hall are worth a visit.
